PAT Testing

Portable appliance testing (PAT) describes the routine examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use.

As an employer (even landlords) and under legislation you are required to take reasonable precautions to ensure that any electrical equipment provided for use is kept in a safe condition. You can do this by conducting visual checks on equipment where you may find some defects, however, other defects can only be found by testing. There can be a vast range of appliances int eh workplace and they are grouped as ‘moveable’, ‘stationery’, ‘portable’ and ‘handheld’.

Lagom Safety Ltd based are in Belfast and conduct PAT Testing all over Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Our PAT testers hold City & Guilds 2377-77 Level 3 for the Certificate for the Code of Practice for In Service Inspection of Electrical and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT). We pride ourselves by delivering a thorough service including the inspection of plugs which are required as part of the visual inspection.
